DRAWING CLEANUP
Many drawing inconsistencies are handled automatically and corrected by the Proto DB-32 system.  Some of the features included are shown below.

  • Overlapping lines are recognized and eliminated;
  • Gaps between endpoints are aligned (within a user defined tolerance);
  • Multiple, contiguous line or arc segments are welded together (when appropriate) to form larger lines or arcs;.

SELECTIVE PROCESSING
Intelligent drawing interpretation adds powerful functionality to our punch programming, and many redundant tasks are completely automated.

  • Line / notch patching (see animation) is performed resulting in more efficient part programs and better quality parts.
  • Drawing Layers are pre-defined to signal special treatment by the system. Geometry on specific layers may be completely ignored, interpreted but not punched, punched, interpreted to designate order of punching, carry instructions to only hit with specific tools, etc.
  • Material type and thickness may be defined in the drawing and thus control the tools which may be used in Automatic Tool Selection;.
  • Automatic recognition of inside and outside contours is performed to ensure correct tool offsets
